New Homes Week

Writer: Conrad BindingConrad Binding

  • New Homes Week, launched by the HBF in 2005, is an annual celebration of the benefits of new build homes. The theme for this campaign is ‘Community’.

  • Home builders delivered around 226,000 homes last year, significantly contributing to economic activity across the UK: £8.6 billion in the South East, £6.3 billion in the East of England and £5 billion in the East Midlands.

  • New home developments contributed to £6.4 billion spending in local shops, helping support high streets, while £1.4 billion was allocated to infrastructure funding essential projects like roads, schools, and healthcare facilities to create thriving communities.

  • Meanwhile over £10 billion was invested in affordable housing last year, ensuring people have access to quality homes and strengthening communities. Source: Dataloft by PriceHubble, Home Builders Federation 2023–2024
